EPISODE 11: Power Pairs

This week on Glambition, we ask if two is better than one when it comes to having a successful career. New power couple, actors Nicole Flint and SA’s sexiest man, Ty Keough chats about managing professional jealousy in relationships. David Kau and Joey Rasdien share some insight into their working relationship and their movie, which was screened at the Cannes Film Festival. “The Twins”, Hlelo and Ntando Masina share their insights into being a media powerhouse as SA’s most famous siblings. We also chat to an SA jazz sensation, Nqobile, about her career in France and her husband’s support.

In this week’s episode, we chat to Refilwe Modiselle, SA’s first top model who happens to be an albino, on how her skin has influenced her career. EPISODE 8: Weddings

For most women, their wedding day is the most important day of their lives. I share some of my wedding day stories and chat to Melanie Bala, Tumisho and Zozi Masha as well as Leanne Dlamini and Salamina Mosese about their wedding days. We look at the most expensive honeymoon suite in the world in Paris and chat to celebrity florist Jeff Leatham at the Four Seasons. We also look at a traditional local wedding and all the organization that goes into creating the perfect day.

EPISODE 7: Plastic Fantastic

In this week’s show, we look at how plastic surgery has advanced and how people are looking at less invasive procedures to look younger for longer. We chat to SA’s first black female plastic surgeon and she advises kwaito star, Mshoza, well known for her plastic surgery and skin-lightening procedures. We look at the Smile Foundation and how they are helping young children to be accepted back into society through life changing plastic surgery procedures. Former Miss Teen SA, Masechaba Dlengezele also tells us how having had plastic surgery, she feels that her confidence has grown in the business world.

In this, one of Glambition’s funniest episodes, we explore what men think about grooming and looking good these days. We chat to actor and singer, Clint Brink, Tats Nkonzo – one of SA’s funniest comedians as well as DJ Cleo on their “beauty regimes” and Cleo shares his views on romance and attraction. SA’s sexiest man, Lunga Tshabalala also shares his secrets and Lulo Café adds his thoughts to the mix on male grooming. We meet SA’s Robert Westergaard, a local model who has just landed the Hermes campaign internationally and a Vanity Fair shoot with Taylor Swift and also see how Itumeleng Khune feels when we invite him to his first ever spa day.

This week on Glambition, we look at how our hair as our crowning glory impacts how we perceive ourselves as women. Celebrity guests include Motions hair ambassador and “It-Girl”, Minnie Dlamini as well as singing sensation Nothende. Media icon in the making, Pearl Thusi also chats to us about how her hair seems to have it’s own career and we chat to Los-Angeles born Mark Clement on how he views hair. We also have a look at some highlights from SAFW and find out how to create the Minnie Dlamini red-carpet look with Nthatha Mashishi – celebrity hairstylist. I also introduce my hairstylist, Shaughn Adams who adds some humour.

This week on Glambition, we discuss a rather controversial topic – nudity – is it only permissible when it’s in the name of “charity”? We speak to two South African women who dared to go bare for Playboy covers and also go behind the scenes on a covershoot. We also speak to FreshlyGround’s Zolani and Kyla Rose who decided to pose naked for a women’s magazine shoot. Marie Claire’s annual naked cover also features on the show and we chat to Ntsiki Mazwai whose Marie Claire picture caused quite some controversy and find out how posing nude impacted her and her family.

This week on Glambition, we delve into whether one’s heritage and upbringing influence how we see beauty. We chat to top comedian Loyiso Gola, Miss Mamelodi Sundowns, a former Miss SA as well as Rosie Motene, Zakeeya Patel and top experts on cultural beauty. We speak to my mom and other moms and their daughters about how we learn about beauty from our mothers. We also travel to Paris to meet Rokhaya Diallo – a political commentator who is from Senegal but now calls France home. How does she use humour to bring cultural insensitivities to the fore with top international icons?
